The primary reason for failure in any start-up has been the mismanagement of cash-flows, a problem faced by and large in the advertising industry. Poor deal structuring, incorrect reward assumptions and a lack of understanding with regards to business analytic’s are to blame.

Very few have weathered the storm, with estimates being that 10% of new businesses formed succeed for more than two years with profits and having returned all investments. Some founders even avail discount coupons to keep living costs low

We spoke to Nash Islam, the CEO of Green & Red, an advertising platform that understood the pricing analytic’s of its industry and incorporated this effectively in its business process.

Important to note that while we have recently implemented some complex features like re-targeting and conversion tracking, we don’t have keyword-contextual services available yet. It is on our road-map.

Which social network do you use to market the product?
LinkedIn is the only social media I’ve found to be effective. I am an investor in a US company called TigerTrade (CEO is my sister) and they operate an Ali Baba-style B2B marketplace for textile & garments buyers and suppliers. LinkedIn has been a very effective channel for her.

The most effective marketing channel for B2B, however, is email. Most businesses under-invest in email marketing because the general perception is that it’s free. Any B2B marketeer should be spending significant time building engaging email templates, tracking results, managing mail lists, and creating unique content for those emails.
