What to expect of a facial treatment?

In a spa, a facial treatment is the most popular one after the massage. It is one of the best ways to take care of your skin. Your skin will be cleaned, exfoliated and nourished, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion. Furthermore, it can help your skin look younger.

It's important to take good care of your face!

What will exactly happen when getting a facial treatment?

The first step is obviously the consultation. You may have to fill out a form with questions about your skin concerns, your diet, drugs and supplements you take, how much water you drink, and products you currently use. This is because all these things can affect your skin and the kind of treatment recommended. The second step is cleansing. The esthetician will use cotton pads, esthetician wipes or sponges for this. Then she goes on to the skin analysis. Your eyes will be covered because the esthetician will look at your skin closely through a brightly lit magnifying lamp. Your basic skin type and skin conditions will be determined, so the appropriate products and treatments can be chosen and she can give her recommendations. The next step is steaming. This helps soften any blackheads and whiteheads to be extracted. After this, exfoliation using a mechanical or chemical exfoliate will be done so the dead skin cells will be rubbed away. This usually happens during the steam. Then it’s time for extractions, if you want it and need it. This is the removal of blackheads or whiteheads, which can be uncomfortable. The next step is the facial massage, both to relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles. Then, targeted to your skin type and condition, a face mask will be applied. During this mask, the esthetician should give you a service like a scalp massage. If they don’t, it is not a good spa and you shouldn’t go back there. Then a finally a toner, serums, moisturizer and sunscreen (if that is necessary) will be applied and the esthetician will give you advice on home skin care. I hope you will go home with a great feeling.
